Energy Management

Welcome to the UVM Energy Management Website

UVM Conserves The University of Vermont is strongly committed to conserving electricity, fuel, and water as part of its goals to become the "leading environmental university of the nation." In 2006, the Environmental Council updated the University's energy guidelines, which outline methods and procedures to reduce energy consumption in the following areas: campus buildings, the Central Heating Plant, underground service mains, new construction, lighting, heating, air conditioning, ventilation, water usage, transportation, and solid waste. In addition, it promotes education and research opportunities in energy conservation.

The Energy Management Office is always researching new and creative ways to save energy. We welcome your suggestions and inquiries on our energy conservation efforts at UVM.
