James G. Welch Scholarship

The James G. Welch Scholarship Fund was established in 1997 upon the
retirement of Dr. James G. Welch. This fund honors Jim Welch for
his
devoted teaching, service to the dairy industry and outstanding
scholarship in ruminant nutrition over a 30-year career at UVM. The James G. Welch Scholarship fund provides
grants to academically qualified first time, first year undergraduate
Vermont students with
financial need who are enrolled in a degree program in CALS and who are intent on pursuing a career
in agriculture. Preference for scholarship awards is given to students
whose families operate working farms in Vermont.
The CALS Dean's Office mails the scholarship application to students
who qualify in May/June. The deadline for the applications to be
returned to
the Dean's Office, 106 Morrill Hall, is Friday, June 22, 2012.
Questions about this award should be directed to calsstudentservices@uvm.edu or call (802) 656-2980.
