Read Lermontov's Hero of Our Time so that we may discuss the work in class.

Please read Nikolai Gogol's St. Petersburg Tales.  We shall discuss these works in class

Sixth week

Read pp. 3-254 of Gogol's Dead Souls.  Please note that we are reading only Part I .  Part II  is reconstructed from
fragaments of the burned MS.
