Business Meeting Minutes from January 29, 2003

Robbie Richardson:
- unanimous vote -- he's our new Advisor!
- YEAH!
Election Presentations (ideas people mentioned during their little speeches
include):
- presentation/filled out example forms on how to complete the numerous SGA
forms
- want to go to local high schools
- have a phone line open during "office hours" and advertise it with flyers
- BASIC (Building a Safe, Inclusive Community) program to be run by Kim and
Danny next year in L/L
- officers holding office hours
- get involved with other communities such as Outright, RU12?
- scrapbooking/photo albums --> possibly part of the library?
- keep a printed notebook of the minutes in the office
- secretary's also responsible for keeping social log
- agenda becomes minutes sheet (secretary checks out and takes notes on
that)
- normally request $200 in budget for books
- keep a wish list for books
- have the library sign out sheet list both first and last names and phone
numbers so anyone can take out books
Ninny Camps:
- folk artist played Melissa Ferrick, Bitch and Animal
- $200 for possibly Feb. 8th (Drag Ball conflict though)
- we could ask for donations
Trans Conference:
- originally scheduled for March 1st, but that is when Mardi Gras is
- perhaps have it the next week?
- Outright wants to help!!
Gregory Douglass is scheduled for Wednesday April 9th for Queer Vis Week

Think of new positions you want and propose them at the next meeting.
NEXT WEEK:
- have an officers meeting at 6pm, in the office
- regular business meeting at 7pm
- then car pool over to St. Mikes to see Danny from the Real World at 8pm
True Spirit Driving:
- next week's classes are Wednesday (2-4pm) and Thursday (4-6pm)
- sign up now because they are filling up!!
- must provide at least 6 days notice to get your license checked out before
the 14th...do it now!!
- can also watch the video on a CD ROM on the computer if you can't make
either of those times
- call Risk Management at 656-3242 to sign up
- PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE do this.
BASIC (Building A Safe, Inclusive Community) L/L Program:
- new Living/Learning program for 2003-2004 run by Kim and Danny
- for all in GLBTQA spectrum, but specifically geared towards the Q and A
- trying to get CO-ED rooms (so gay man can live with lesbian, transman can
live with guy, and all the other combinations)
- if you know anyone or are interested yourself, please show your support to
help get the proposal passed by the board.
- your support does not necessarily have to mean you WANT to live
there...we just need some support to say it's a good idea!

Office Computer:
- it is finally totally fixed, up, and running, thanks to Kim's brother!!
- it's running Windows 98 now
- stay tuned for information regarding the use/preventing abuse of it (it's
an oldie and needs some special lov'n).
AIDS testing Thursday:
- Cook Commons table
- 2 testers at once
- anonymous and free
- come check it out.
