The Experts Database will promote faculty expertise and scholarship to several key audiences to bolster the visibility of our world-class faculty and advance UVM’s reputation for research excellence and land grant solutions.
This online tool will help journalists, lawmakers, potential collaborators, UVM fundraisers, and communicators to identify faculty available for public impact opportunities, including media interviews, donor alignment, and policy feedback.
Faculty can join the UVM Experts Database now by submitting a brief online form. The database will officially launch to external audiences in late October once a sufficient number and variety of faculty have joined to share their subject matter expertise.
Developed by UVM’s Division of Strategic Communications, the database allows users to conduct keyword searches of faculty web profiles. This new web communications platform will streamline responses to the frequent requests for faculty expertise that UVM attracts as a public R1 university.
Media training is available to faculty seeking to expand their public communications skills. Scholars can also now submit news tips notifying communications staff of forthcoming research and newsworthy projects for promotional consideration.
Visit UVM’s Become a Faculty Newsmaker webpage to join the UVM Experts Database, sign-up for media training, or submit a news tip. These resources are part of UVM Strategic Communications’ Research is a Public Good campaign that explores the positive impacts of UVM research on society.
