The UVM Department of Theatre caps off its 2010-2011 season with a 10-day run of William Shakespeare’s classic comedy Twelfth Night starting Thursday, Feb. 17 at Royall Tyler Theatre.

Directed by Peter Jack Tkatch, associate professor in theatre, Twelfth Night or What You Will is the tale of a young woman who is shipwrecked, and in a moment of desperation, sets a series of events into motion creating a tangled knot of romance and mistaken identity. With musical direction by Tom Cleary, the cast of Twelfth Night is a combination of veteran student performers and new talent including Oliver Solomon, Matthew Jenks, Stephen Skibicki, Ryan Howland, Gina Mastrogiacomo, Zakary Juckett, Devon Mendicino, Orion Lay-Sleeper, Kody Grassett, Alex Koch, Tommy Grassey, Sam Durant Hunter, Grace Trapnell, Natalie Battistone and Andrea Underhill.

Jeff Modereger, professor in theater and nationally-known for his set designs in plays and major motion pictures, will handle scenic design, while John B. Forbes, associate professor in theater, will serve as lighting designer and Martin Thaler, professor in theater, is costume designer.

Performances are Feb. 17-19 and 24-26 at 7:30 p.m. and Feb. 19 and 27 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $18 for adults, $15 for seniors (55-plus) and non-UVM students. UVM Student tickets are $7 and must be purchased at the box office.
