Introduction to programming and computer science with Python. Topics include types, variables, functions, branching, loops, flow of control, simple input/output, and basic data structures. Textbook: An Introduction to Programming and Computer Science with Python (ISBN: 979-8-9887092-1-3). Hard copy available in UVM Bookstore / free PDF available via Brightspace LMS.
Section Expectation
Assumes no prior experience with programming. Student should have high school algebra. Regularly scheduled assessments. Be prepared to spend roughly ~15 hours per week on this course—though this will vary from student to student.
Evaluation
Weekly homework, quizzes, three exams, metacognition essays, a demo video.
