Section Description

This course introduces macroeconomics, the study of the economy as a whole. You will explore key economic concepts such as inflation, economic growth, and recessions, along with policies like monetary and fiscal policy. By examining how these factors shape the global economy and influence daily life, you will develop a deeper understanding of macroeconomic issues and their real-world implications.

Section Expectation

This course is structured to be online and asynchronous. Each lecture will be available as a video recording covering key concepts. Students are expected to watch these recordings and take notes as they would in an in-person class. The course is relatively fast-paced, and students should plan to dedicate 6–8 hours per week to coursework beyond watching the lectures. The required textbook is Macroeconomics by Paul Krugman and Robin Wells, Seventh Edition.

Evaluation

Final letter grades will be based on two online exams, participation points, and homework assignments.
