Bev Belisle served as director of UVM’s Mosaic Center for Students of Color for 20 years. Through her work at The MCSC she was able to express her passion to enable deep belonging and justice for the BIPOC community at UVM. Bev used her gifts for advocacy, consultation, education, collaboration, creative programming and mentorship to benefit generations of UVM students.
As an engaged UVM community member her leadership has been recognized by multiple organizations most recently as a recipient of the university’s “Common Ground Award” and “The Jackie Gribbons Award for Leadership” presented by The Vermont Women in Higher Education. Bev is also engaged in justice work through service on the boards of The Vermont ACLU and The Vermont Humanities.
As an Afro-Latina who is a first generation American and college student, Bev believes in the power of higher education to transform lives and provide tools for an unfolding life adventure.
