Benefits Information for Faculty Represented by United Academics Part-time Unit

Effective January 1, 2015, the federal Affordable Care Act (ACA) requires large employers like UVM to offer medical insurance coverage to any employee averaging 30 hours or more of work per week (130 hours per month) over a 12-month "look-back" period called the "measurement period." If you are found to be eligible, you will receive a letter from Human Resources Services providing you with information about your coverage options, as well as instructions on how to proceed if you elect to participate.

Data points considered during the look-back review process may include such factors as length of employment, your employment status, current benefits eligibility, and number of courses taught. For more information, please visit the Required Postings section of the Benefits page and select "Affordable Care Act".

Please refer to Article 18, Compensation, and Article 20, Benefits, of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the University of Vermont and United Academics (AAUP/AFT) for more information about the benefits available to you as a UVM employee.
