Every year, at the Folk Alliance Conference, where we learn about many of new artists we present, there is one performer who gets a lot of buzz and everyone rushes to see and book for their programs. Last year, that artist was bluesman Ron Artis II. Honestly, we’ve never heard anyone quite like him. Hailing from Haleiwa, Hawai’i, from a family of artists and musicians, Ron Artis II is an electrifying guitar player, singer, and communicator. But he is also a grateful and graceful gentleman of the stage; he just seems so happy to play his heart out for the audience.
