I fell in love with Nella when I saw her perform at the Blue Note in New York last January. What a voice, what rhythm, grace, and passion! Backed by a world-class band, it was non-stop joy in that club. Nella’s music encompasses both the folkloric sounds of her native Venezuela, the emotions and sounds of flamenco, and more contemporary Latin grooves and rhythms. And, though Nella will be new to much of our audience, she is a bona fide star, signed by Sony Records, acting in the film Everybody Knows with Javiar Bardem and Penelope Cruz, and filling large halls and even stadiums in the Spanish-speaking world. 

She rapidly rose to international fame thanks to her powerful voice and undeniable presence. In a short period of time, she went from graduating from Berklee College of Music to winning the 2019 Latin GRAMMY® Award for Best New Artist. That same year, her full-length debut, Voy (I Go), produced by the award-winning Javier Limón for Casa Limón Records, garnered praise from NPR and featured the hit “Me Llaman Nella” (They Call Me Nella). The title track was named the 14th best song of 2019 by The New York Times, spanning all genres.
