Fans of acoustic music are pinching themselves right now; this one is very special. Pioneers and icons Mike and Darol have influenced a generation of musicians like Hawktail and the Punch Brothers with their virtuosic and breathtaking New Acoustic sound. Their music brings together folk, jazz, bluegrass, and world music influences and their collaborations and live performances are legendary. They’ve played together as members of the original David Grisman Quintet, the Montreux Band, and individually in the Turtle Island String Quartet, The Modern Mandolin Quartet, Edgar Meyer’s Short Trip Home, and The Republic of Strings, to name a few.

They will be joined by the extraordinary four-time Grammy Award winning cellist and composer Eugene Friesen, whom many of our audience may recognize from his years of touring (and thirty CD’s) with the Paul Winter Consort. But wait, there’s more! Eugene is bringing his flagship string ensemble of the Berklee School of Music, the Berklee World Strings. The ensemble includes more than forty members representing nearly every continent, with students from Jordan, Spain, Ecuador, Turkey, Canada, China, and the United States and more.
