Gadan is an anomaly. The unique part? They are from Italy! Referring to themselves as “Irish Music. American Flavor. Italian Seasoning”, they are practitioners of a relatively new genre dubbed “Celtgrass”, the merging of Irish traditional music and Americana. Masterful musicians, they are thrilling on stage, with the kind of rapid-fire finger work and Irish craic that blows audiences away. In 2024 they were joined by the great Enda Scahill, tenor banjo legend and founder of one of the hottest bands in Irish music, We Banjo 3. Later, they added Eric Long, a clawhammer banjoist and singer-songwriter originally from the mountainous heart of Pennsylvania – a region deeply rooted in Appalachian tradition. Eric brings a raw, authentic American folk soul to the group’s transatlantic sound, further expanding their dynamic and diverse musical identity.
