“Few, however, are able to transcribe the complexity of these emotions into song as eloquently as Francesca Blanchard.” --- Popmatters

Pre-concert talk with Francesca Blanchard, Matt LaRocca, and Natalie Neuert:

Raised in France and Vermont, singer-songwriter Francesca Blanchard's melodic indie-pop music bursts with bold vulnerability, cathartic relief, and a refreshing dose of self-awareness — a direction that demonstrates the artist’s evolving critical consciousness and relish for catchy hooks. For this Lane Series project, she will be bringing her latest album as well as some songs from her older repertoire to the newly-refurbished Recital Hall stage, with new arrangements of her music by Matt LaRocca, Christopher Hawthorn, and Kyle Saulnier. She will be accompanied by members of Vermont Quarantine Collective (John Dunlop, cello; Brooke Quiggins, violin; Matt LaRocca, viola, acoustic guitar, electric guitar; Kyle Saulnier, double bass, electirc bass; Michael Hartigan, piano, keyboard; Ezra Oklan, drums), who will be providing a chamber music backdrop and fresh reimagined arrangements of her songs.
