As a guitarist, she has beguiled fellow musicians, audiences, and critics worldwide with a combination of technical mastery and creative innovation that has caused many to reexamine their notions about what the instrument can do.  And yes, she is an Assad – the sister of classical guitarists Sérgio and Odair – but she has forged her own path in world music and jazz.
