Alex Cuba
“His trademark sugarcane-sweet melodies, pop-soul hooks and rock chords subtly subvert commonly held notions of what Cuban music is.” – All About Jazz

Anyone who has seen singer/guitarist Alex Cuba perform live knows that he is an unusually compelling performer. When we shared with colleagues that Lane was presenting him in the fall, their eyes widened, and people literally oohed and aahed!
At an early age, Alex discovered music's power to mesmerize and transport. "I used to skip meals," says Cuba, speaking of the long days he spent in his room in Artemisa, Cuba as a child, mastering the bass. "My mother would have to remind me that I was human, that I needed food. Music has always taken me away like that." Today, his performances carry audiences away in the same fashion. He's shared the stage with artists as diverse as Sheryl Crow and Juan Luis Guerra, casting his spell as if genres weren't a thing. His concerts, in venues like the Hollywood Bowl and Radio City as well as intimate halls like our own, exude joy and upbeat energy.
Fiercely individualistic yet deeply rooted in the Latin and Caribbean rhythms of his upbringing, Alex has won two Juno awards, four Latin Grammys, and a 2022 Grammy for Best Latin Pop Album. His smooth and expressive vocals, exceptionally melodic songwriting, and charming presence, both on and off stage, are an absolute delight.
