Incoming UVM first-year students from historically underserved communities are invited to apply for the FREE Summer Enrichment Scholar Program (SESP). This two-week pre-orientation program, running from August 6th through August 19th, 2025, offers a unique opportunity to get a head start on your college experience. You'll build a strong community of peers by moving in early, and students who aligned their housing contract with SESP will be living together in Living/Learning A-building! Throughout the program, you'll explore UVM, the Burlington community, and broader Vermont, getting to know the Mosaic Center family and settling into your new space. You'll also learn about the "hidden curriculum" and sustainable habits, and connect with individuals who will likely become your close friends (and maybe a few friendly rivals!) for the next few years. Application closes on 6/29/25 at 11:45pm. 

Unfortunately, if you were not admitted by 5/5/25 (housing contract deadline) you will not be housed directly with other SESP cohort participants. Also if you did not preference the Global Connections Learning Community within your top three (3) choices, there is no guarantee that you will be housed in the same building/area of campus as the rest of the cohort. We will provide any support needed to make your experience of the program accessible, regardless of your housing assignment.
