UVM CATcard for Retirees
- Retired staff may obtain their card after their status has been changed in PeopleSoft to retired.
- Access to your privileges will be activated at the time your new card is issued.
- Your spouse and dependents are eligible for a courtesy ID card.
- CAT$cratch, the prepaid debit account, may be opened at any time and works right off the ID for your convenience.
- The first retired ID card is at no cost.
Retiree Tuition Remission
Retirees are eligible for tuition remission up to 15 credit hours per academic year.
1. Activate your student account. If you want to take courses and you are not currently enrolled in a degree program, you are considered a Continuing Education student. All enrollments for continuing education are handled through Professional and Continuing Education (PACE). To become an active student, visit the PACE website, click Apply Now, and complete the Credit Courses for New Non-Degree Student application.
2. Register for courses. Once you have an active student account, you can register for courses. If you have any issues with registration, please contact register@uvm.edu.
3. Submit tuition remission request form. For tuition remission to be applied to your account, reach out to Human Resources for the form. Tuition remission can also be applied to retiree dependents and spouses using the same form. If you have any questions, please contact hrinfo@uvm.edu or call 802-656-3150.
