We’re heading into the final weeks of the special open enrollment period! Below are this week’s key updates and reminders: 

Weekly highlights 

• Enrollment update. As of Wednesday, December 10, 87% of retirees and their dependents have successfully enrolled. If you haven’t enrolled yet, please visit my.viabenefits.com/uvm or call 1-833-858-4990 to make an appointment.
• Action Required: If your Vermont Blue Advantage plan is ending 12/31/25 and you have NOT enrolled for 2026 coverage through Via Benefits:
  • You must enroll through Via Benefits to qualify for HRA reimbursement. If you enrolled on the Via Benefits Portal, with Via Benefits over the phone or used the custom BCBS of Vermont link you will be eligible for reimbursement. If you are HRA-eligible but contacted the vendor directly to enroll, contact HRInfo@uvm.edu so we can assist you with next steps.
  • If you have chosen coverage elsewhere and have not responded to Via Benefits calls or letters, please email HRInfo@uvm.edu to confirm you have 2026 coverage. This helps us update our records and ensure all retirees and dependents have a plan.
• Setting up automatic HRA reimbursements. If you enrolled through Via Benefits, instructions for activating your HRA and setting up direct deposit are being mailed to you. Please note: Even if you provided banking information for premium payments, you will need to provide it again for HRA reimbursement after your application is accepted by the carrier.
• Holiday Hours
  • UVM will be closed December 24, 2025 – January 1, 2026. We strongly encourage you to enroll by December 19 so we can assist you if any issues arise.
  • Via Benefits will be closed December 25 and January 1, 2026.
