BIO
Megan is a PhD student in the Janssen-Heininger Lab. Her research interests include redox biochemistry, translational science, and cellular metabolism. She utilizes state-of-the-art molecular and biochemical techniques, including three-dimensional primary cell culture, redox proteomics, and single-cell RNA sequencing, to investigate how redox-dependent processes govern diverse pulmonary diseases. The goal of her research is to expand therapeutic options for the treatment of fibrotic lung diseases through in-depth understandings of redox-based mechanisms.
Megan is a lifelong resident of Vermont having graduated from The University of Vermont in 2022. While in college, she conducted undergraduate research in both clinical and biomedical disciplines as a research assistant. Additionally, Megan worked as a Certified Pharmacy Technician at a local retail pharmacy for over two years.
Outside of lab, Megan enjoys soaking up the beautiful Vermont weather, getting food with friends, playing piano, and spending time with her cat.
