BIO
I am working on validating Toxoplasma gondii myosin A as a drug target in Dr. Gary Ward's lab. In 2015, I graduated from CU Boulder with a B.A. in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology and French. After graduating, I worked as a research assistant in a unique role that straddled academia and industry working in the lab of Dr. Leslie Leinwand for MyoKardia, Inc. At UVM, I pivoted into parasitology and applied my previous myosin experience to a parasite context. My ultimate goal is to stop apicomplexan parasites in their tracks through advanced microscopy techniques and parasite assays. When not in the lab, I also work at UVM's Graduate Writing Center as a writing consultant supporting other graduate students with their assignments, publications, presentations, and dissertations.
