In Vermont, hunting has had a long tradition. It is a popular way for many Vermonters and visitors alike to recreate within the state's expansive forests, as well a provide meat for their families. Here we capture hunting activity based on the number of servings estimated from harvests of big game (white-tailed deer, black bear, moose, and wild turkey). The current year is scored as the distance between zero and the maximum value + 10% of the range.
