Members of the ERTC

Body

Membership in the ERTC is subject to the Faculty Senate bylaws.  Senate standing committees are composed of at least one member from each of the major academic units.  Units with more than 200 full-time eligible faculty members may elect one additional member.  Members are elected in March for a three year term. The ERTC shall include one graduate and one undergraduate student member designated by the student governing bodies for one-year term.

The Charge of the ERTC

Body

The ERTC is responsible for matters related to the development and implementation of educational and research technologies at the University and guide acquisition of information literacy by students and faculty. This includes items referred to in Sections 1.1a, 1.1c, 1.2a, 1.2b, 1.2g, 1.2h and 1.2k. The ERTCshall review and recommend policies and procedures relating to the planning, introduction, and use of campus-wide technologies, including computers, communications, electronic data handling, instructional media, and emerging technologies, such as Artificial Intelligence. The committee shall assume responsibility for informing the administration of educational and research priorities and needs related to information literacy and see that these are considered in all planning.  It shall maintain close liaison with the Curricular Affairs Committee, the Financial and Physical Planning Committee, the Student Affairs Committee, and the Research, Scholarship, and the Creative Arts Committee.

Body

The Educational and Research Technologies Committee generally meets on the second Wednesday of the month from 9:00 - 10:30 AM. The March meeting will fall on the 3rd Wednesday of the Month this academic year.
