Respondus Lockdown Browser and Monitor

Wednesday, September 16, 2020 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Free

These two optional Respondus tools provide barriers to cheating when taking tests in Blackboard:

Respondus Lockdown Browser locks students to Blackboard when taking a test, and it prevents other apps or windows from being opened while the test is in progress.

Respondus Monitor is a tool that works with the Lockdown Browser and monitors students using their webcams while they take the tests. It provides a report afterwards that flags exact moments of concern in the video for the faculty to view and adjudicate.

This workshop will cover the pros and cons of these tools and explain how to use them. It does not, however, cover making tests in Blackboard. For that, see the workshop “Tests and Quizzes: Creating, Giving, and Grading Them in Blackboard” on September 15th.

The workshop will be held remotely in Teams and people who register will receive informat the day before the event about how to join the meeting.

Facilitated by Inés Berrizbeitia and Justin Henry.
