Engaging Students in Large Enrollment Classes: Just-in-Time Teaching (in-person or webinar)

Monday, October 7, 2019 @ 12:00 pm - 12:30 pm

Free

This is one of a series of short events called Sound (Teaching) Bites. In this session, we will discuss how Just-in-Time Teaching can increase engagement in your large enrollment class by creating feedback loops between yourself and your students. The session facilitator will discuss how she has successfully used Just-in-Time Teaching in the UVM classroom.

Presented by Laura Hill, Plant Biology, CTL Faculty Associate

About this semester’s Sound (Teaching) Bite Event Series

See full list of these events.

This Teaching Sound Bites series will offer quick opportunities to learn some new, concrete strategies to incorporate active learning or promote student engagement in your teaching. Each Sound (Teaching) Bite will start at noon and open with a 15-minute presentation, followed by a 15-minute follow-up conversation; participants can attend in-person or via webinar. The series draws on presenters from a variety of departments and offices at UVM.

After you register, you’ll be contacted about your attendance choice: in-person or webinar. We will send you a link to join the webinar, if applicable.
