Effective Discussion Boards: Informal Writing for Learning and Community

FreeOnline discussion is a powerful form of informal writing that can build community and support learning—but online discussions can falter if they fall into dull rhythms or get out of control. This session explores principles for fostering effective online discussion by guiding participants to set priorities and goals for discussion board writing. You’ll leave this session with practical strategies for changing the nature of class discussion.
