Blackboard Tools for Student Work
Thursday, May 23, 2019 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am
FreeWhat are the Blackboard tools for student work? How do you choose which to use?
- Use Blogs to collect and share information class-wide: resources, problem sets, short reports, links, latest news, or even images.
- Use Journals for students to share work with you, not with the class: reflections, drafts, research resources.
- Use Wikis to build collaborative or individual projects that are “book-like” with multiple pages and a table of contents: lab reports, encyclopedic-type collections, or any multi-part document where each student contributes a page.
- Use the Assignment tool as a “dropbox” to collect work. If these files are created as docs, spreadsheets, or pdf files, you can comment on and annotate them directly in Blackboard without having to download them.
In this workshop you will try each of these tools as a student, learn how to set them up in your own Blackboard course, and consider how to assess them.
The workshop will be facilitated by Hope Greenberg (hope.greenberg@uvm.edu).
