Prior to joining the faculty at UVM, Sarah spent 10 years as Director for Rutland Regional Medical Center’s Community Health Improvement Department.
In this role she was responsible for the implementation of the Blueprint for Health in the Rutland Health Service Area. As the Blueprint Project Manager she was responsible for 42 community health team members that provide case management, care coordination, panel management and self-management programs to a community of 62,000 residents.
For over 20 years she directed the Bowse Health Trust, RRMC’s grant funding operation and community benefit planning. This program provides grants to local programs that address the needs identified in the Community Health Needs Assessment.
Sarah’s background includes teaching college nursing and health promotion courses, non–profit board leadership, and quality improvement consulting.
Sarah earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of Vermont and a Master of Science in Nursing at the University of Connecticut. She is a lifelong Vermonter and enjoys spending time outside biking, skiing, hiking and kayaking.
