Clinical Instructor

Abilene Smith has practiced nursing since 2003. She is originally from Michigan, where she worked as a clinical manager in cardiopulmonary rehabilitation and inpatient acute rehabilitation. Since 2008 she has been employed by The University of Vermont Medical Center, where she specializes in neurology, rehabilitation and case management. Her area of expertise includes program development, including: stroke education for professionals, stroke prevention for patients and families, employee wellness programs, lung disease support groups and smoking prevention. She is also passionate about elder care, and serves on volunteer groups and community forums to assist those with chronic conditions.
