BIO

Dr. Jean Pelski is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Nursing at the University of Vermont (UVM) and an acute care neonatal nurse practitioner in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at both Baystate Children's Hospital in Massachusetts and the University of Vermont Medical Center (UVMMC). She brings extensive experience in undergraduate and graduate nursing education, with a strong record of mentoring Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) faculty and students. Specializing in nurse practitioner education, Dr. Pelski provides expert guidance to DNP NP students, supporting them in evidence-based practice and quality improvement projects aimed at enhancing patient care outcomes.

A Fellow of the National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties (NONPF) Leadership Program, Dr. Pelski is committed to developing and strengthening academic-practice partnerships to advance DNP education and clinical excellence. She serves as the UVM faculty liaison between the Vermont Child Health Improvement Program (VCHIP) and nursing education and clinical practice, fostering initiatives that integrate population-based research, quality improvement, and advanced nursing practice.

Since 2010, Dr. Pelski has also served as a clinical instructor at Tufts University School of Medicine and UMass Chan Medical School – Baystate, focusing on nursing education and professional development. She is actively involved in graduate curriculum development, faculty mentoring, and nursing leadership. Additionally, she has presented nationally on topics related to evidence-based practice, healthcare quality, and nurse practitioner education.
