The annual Vermont Journalism Conference is fast approaching and we are excited to share details about this year's lineup.
Hosted by UVM's Center for Community News, in partnership with the Vermont Community Foundation, this event is an opportunity for news leaders and advocates from across the state to come together to innovate, collaborate and advance our collective mission to strengthen the Vermont news landscape and its central role in a vibrant democracy.
The Program
This year we will hear from First Amendment experts on the threats facing journalists here in Vermont and across the country. We will unveil new shared resources to help local outlets expand their reach and impact. And we will honor the Vermont lawmakers championing local news through public policy. There will be opportunities to brainstorm in collaborative sessions and plenty of time to catch up with old friends.
The day will kickoff with coffee and refreshments in the morning, followed later by a lunch buffet.
Venue and Parking
The conference will be held at the Silver Pavilion of the UVM Alumni House, on the corner of Summit and Maple Street in Burlington.
We have reserved a block of parking spots just around the corner at the Allen House at 461 Main Street.
Please print this parking pass in advance and display it on your dashboard.
If the lot is full, there is free Burlington city parking on Summit Street and many of the surrounding streets. There's also a metered visitor lot on College Street, near the Waterman building.
If you have any questions regarding parking, contact Sam Nylen for assistance.
