What You Need to Know About Tuition
Vermont Tuition Rate vs. Out-of-State Tuition Rate
Residency status is determined when you are admitted to the university and generally remains the same throughout a student’s UVM career. Visit the Registrar's website for more details on residency.
Students Enrolled in More Than 18 Credits Per Semester
Undergraduate students enrolled in more than 18 credits per semester will be charged the per-credit-hour tuition rate for each credit above 18.
Audited Courses
Tuition and fee charges are the same whether a course is taken as an audit or for credit.
Enrollment Changes
- Your bill reflects the number of credits you were enrolled in when your bill was generated. Enrollment changes will display on your next bill.
- Please take a moment to review the UVM tuition refund dates and policy.
Taking Additional UVM Courses While on Study Abroad Exchange Program
If a student who is participating in a study abroad exchange program (where the fee is billed by UVM), enrolls in additional UVM courses, s/he will be billed the per-credit rate for those additional credits, in addition to being charged the full study abroad fee. This is true regardless of the number of credits the student will earn through the study abroad exchange program.
