Henderson Scholarship
Terms and Conditions
The Henderson Scholarship was established to recognize first-time first-year students who will enhance the cultural, ethnic, economic and/or geographic diversity of the University. This scholarship is no longer being awarded to additional students.
Renewal Eligibility
In order to retain your scholarship, you must remain a full-time student (defined as enrolling in twelve or more credits per semester). There is no minimum cumulative grade point average requirement for this scholarship. This scholarship is a revocable award from the University, and if withdrawn due to a student's failure to fulfill the terms & conditions, it will not be reinstated in the future.
Length of Scholarship
You may receive this scholarship for a maximum of eight semesters or until you graduate, whichever comes first.
Residency Classification
Scholarship eligibility will be re-evaluated based on changes to your residency classification. Changes in residency classification may result in a loss or reduction of scholarship assistance.
Gift Aid Tolerance
Your scholarship award may be reduced or cancelled if total gift aid (including grants, scholarships, employer tuition benefits, and VA educational benefits) exceeds the total cost of attendance as defined by the University.
Relationship to Need-Based Financial Aid
As a merit scholarship, this award is not based on need or financial aid eligibility. If you apply/have applied for need-based financial aid at the University, you will receive more information on your total financial aid package directly from Student Financial Services. Your scholarship will be calculated into your overall aid package.
Summer Session
Your scholarship may not be used to attend summer session classes.
Enrollment Status Changes
You may take an approved Leave of Absence from the University for up to two consecutive semesters and retain your scholarship upon your return. Your scholarship will be terminated if you choose to withdraw, become inactive, enroll less than full-time, or if you are suspended or dismissed from the University.
How to Accept Your Scholarship
To accept your scholarship, visit www.uvm.edu/admissions/appstatus and pay your admission acceptance fee to enroll at UVM by the date indicated on your letter of admission.
