Welcome to UVM!

The Transfer Orientation program will give you an introduction to campus life at UVM. These sessions are intended to help you with the basics of parking, on-and off- campus housing options, CATcard (your UVM ID card); access to the library, recreation center and athletic facilities; campus shuttle; managing your student account and financial aid package; and other optional activities including campus tours.

If you have paid your acceptance fee to the Admissions Office and you are a transfer student from another institution or a transfer from UVM's Continuing Education, you will find the Orientation program an essential step in starting your academic career at the University of Vermont.

11 - 11:30 a.m.

Check-In & Lunch
Davis Student Center. Enjoy this informal meal and connect with other new transfer students.

11:30 am - 12:15 p.m.

Welcome & Campus Life Session
Representatives from campus offices will present information about parking, housing, dining options, financial aid, transferring credits, and learning support services.

12:15 - 12:45 p.m.

Orientation Leader Meetings/Family Panel
Students will have a chance to meet with an Orientation Leader who will help you identify essential tasks you should complete before classes begin and how to take care of them. Family members will have the opportunity to have any questions they have about life on campus answered by our Orientation Leaders.

1:00 p.m. 
  • Get your Student ID at the CATCard Office
  • Take a Campus Tour
  • Visit campus offices to get your questions answered & business done
  • Meet with ACCESS office (for students who require accommodations)
  • * Please note, appointments will not be available on August 26 but students can drop in during the ACCESS open house that afternoon.
1-4p.m. Academic Advising & Course Registration (August 26 only)

Parking for the July 29 transfer session is available in the Jeffords parking lot, located next to the Davis Center. A permit is required; please download the parking permit and directions here.
