Performance Planning and Reporting Framework

Planning and Reporting for IMPACT, FY1999--FY2001

Welcome to the University of Vermont Extension Performance Planning and Reporting Framework homepage. This site contains the necessary documents for the development of Curriculum Plans for teams and Personal Performance Plans for individual faculty for FY1999-FY2001. The Curriculum framework consists of four sections (Parts 1-4), the Personal Performance Plan framework has four sections as well (Part 1, 3-5) with an additional document (Part 5) for approval signatures. The collective response of faculty to specific curricula becomes Extension's Performance Plan that is submitted to our federal partners. Both Curricula and Personal Performance Plans must address the next three years; however, there will be opportunities to revise these documents annually.

This year is the second year of the Performance Plan submission. Where possible, curriculum documents from last years submission are used, so teams may edit last years submissions. These documents can be downloaded and edited to reflect desired changes. An electronic copy of the edited document, your FY99-01 Draft curricula is required by the Associate Directors office for publishing on the web.

Feedback from Extension chairs and faculty has been used in making minor changes in the framework. No additional Parts have been added to the Curricula or Performance Plan framework. Changes have been to align the framework more closely to the GPRA Performance Plan and Report and some formatting changes to make the framework easier to work with in word processors.

Curriculum Program Teams and individual faculty are strongly encouraged to collaborate in program planning and impact reporting, particularly in the areas of developing and prioritizing evaluation strategies and performance impact measures. In cases where multiple faculty are working on the same programs, Personal Performance Plans should reflect individual activities, resource requirements and contributions to meeting team targets established in the Curriculum Plan.

Notes and Instructions on Viewing and Downloading Files on this Page:

Prior to downloading the following impact reporting documents, you should plan on saving the files on a formatted floppy diskette in your computer's "A" drive, or create a subdirectory or folder on your "C" drive.

HTML Files: To view documents on your screen without downloading them, use your LEFT mouse button to click on the "HTML" version. Please note that the HTML documents may contain some typographical or formatting errors due to problems translating files from multiple word processing formats. In addition, certain documents may be truncated when printing directly from the Internet to your local printer. To avoid truncating HTML versions you may need to change your printer's "properties" to landscape.

Microsoft Word Files: To download files in Microsoft Word, use your RIGHT mouse button to click on the "Microsoft" version. If you have used Netscape to access this page, select SAVE LINK AS and identify where you want to save the document, either in a folder or subdirectory on your hard disk (usually the "C" drive) or on a floppy diskette (usually the "A" drive). You do not need to rename the file or specify a file type. To initiate the downloading process, use the LEFT mouse button to click on SAVE--the transfer will happen very quickly. If you have used Microsoft's Internet Explorer to access this page, use your RIGHT mouse button to click on the Microsoft version. You will be prompted with a SAVE screen. Select SAVE TARGET AS with your LEFT mouse button before proceeding with the above instructions.

WordPerfect Files: To download files in WordPerfect, use your RIGHT mouse button to click on the "WordPerfect" version and follow the instructions listed above for Microsoft documents.

Using downloaded files: Once you have downloaded and saved your impact reporting files, you may use them as any other document file. Both the WordPerfect and Microsoft documents consist of tables created using the TABLES function of these software programs. You may begin typing directly in the table cells which automatically will expand vertically to accommodate your text. You may choose to delete the italicized instructions and examples contained in many of the table cells.
