Sara earned her Bachelor's degree in Sociology at Johnson State College. The JSC SERVE office, a student leadership/civic engagement center, as well as family and mentors, informed and inspired Sara's lifelong passion for community development and social justice efforts, especially in the fields of resource/distributional equity and poverty alleviation. After her undergrad, Sara was employed at the Clarina Howard Nichols Center, a domestic and sexual violence advocacy agency; and People in Partnership, a human services collaborative dedicated to improving community wellness. Sara had been employed at the Committee on Temporary Shelter until fall of 2012, where she had enjoyed working as an advocate for homeless and marginally housed families. Sara is inspired by solutions-based, client-centered program development, and hopes to grow her skills toward evaluating, creating, and managing service delivery programs for disadvantaged populations.
