Criteria for each award are listed below. Please describe the nominee's qualifications.

Professional Achievement Award
• Given to alumni for instances of outstanding professional achievement in their respective fields, which have brought distinction to themselves, credit to the College and to UVM, and real benefit to local, national, and/or international communities.
• Recognizes an instance of excellence for high-performance alumni.
• Presented to one person annually, and need not be awarded each year.

Alumni Service Citation
• This citation honors alumni whose service to the College makes a significant impact. This can be achieved through interaction with students, the development of new knowledge through scholarship or research, or through the provision of financial support that helps secure critical aspects of the future of the College.
• Presented to one person annually, and need not be awarded each year.

Distinguished Alumni Medal
• Recognizes not just a single remarkable achievement, but the career and lifetime achievement of alumni of the College of Nursing and Health Sciences. Recipients will have attained and maintained extremely high stations in their chosen fields of endeavor and in their service to society.
• This is the highest award given by the College to its alumni, and is given sparingly.
