Jay Ashman has been part of the Community Development and Applied Economics Department since 1982. He spent 28 years as an Assistant Attorney General in Consumer Protection and Antitrust with the Vermont Attorney General's Office. His interests include international education, having worked or taught in Kenya, Malaysia, New Zealand, Belize, and St. Lucia. Jay played a role in the establishement of service-learning courses in St. Lucia that continue today and in partnership with Galen University in Belize, he developed and currently directs the Belize Semester Abroad Program in Sustainable Development.
