Zack’s responsibility at the TRC includes coordinating and implementing Technology Transfer and related communications initiatives of the Transportation Research Center. This includes the implementation of an overall Tech Transfer communications strategy, planning and overseeing events and conference logistics, maintenance and development of key communications tools (website, annual report, newsletters, research summaries, fact sheets, infographics), reviewing research report submissions, managing the logistics of outreach efforts from databases to mailings in support of specific programs including budget elements, providing overall support for TRC outreach efforts. Develops, coordinates and implements primarily externally focused communications and educational projects in support of the University outreach

Zack comes to the TRC from the Vermont Division of Emergency Management and Homeland Security.  Prior to that he worked for an advertising agency and a local PBS affiliate where he was an assistant editor on “Flowers in the desert: Cirque du Soleil”.  He attended UVM as an undergraduate majoring in Geography and minoring in Geospatial Technologies.  Outside of work Zack is a volunteer and 2nd Lieutenant with the Vermont Wing of the Civil Air Patrol, US Air Force Auxiallary where he serves as the squadron communications officer and as an aircrew member responding to search and rescue, disaster relief, and other missions.
