Jacob Leopold, Business and Contracts Manager for the UVM Transportation Research Center, performs the financial and contractual management of the sponsored and departmental activities. Previously employed at UVM’s Grant and Contract Administrative Services, Mr. Leopold was responsible for the financial reporting of a 300+ portfolio of sponsored grants and contracts, served as principal contact for the institutional support of 4 sponsor site visits, and performed the financial review of all subcontracts for the University averaging 170 awards a year.
Since joining the UVM Transportation Research Center Mr. Leopold has expanded his expertise to include much needed familiarity with USC Title 49 as it pertains to Transportation and Federal transportation funding. Mr. Leopold has been responsible for the financial management of numerous awards at the UVM Transportation Research Center including the $17M US Department of Transportation University Transportation Center Grant, the Transportation Education Development Pilot Program, the administration at UVM of the Vermont Agency of Transportation’s Research Advisory Council competitive awards and the New England Transportation Consortium (a six-state pooled research fund). Having developed familiarity and expertise over the past 6 years with the University’s portfolio of policies, the Uniform Guidance Super-circulars, USC Titles 2, 14 and 49, Mr. Leopold ensures the financial compliance for all UVM Transportation Research Center’s activities.
