Jen Cirillo

Director of Professional Learning, Shelburne Farms

Jen is the Director of Professional Learning at Shelburne Farms where she coordinates the Sustainable Schools Project among other educator programs focused on Education for Sustainability (EFS), place-based, and service-learning.  She is a leader in EFS and engages in deep partnerships with individual educators, schools, and districts as well as national organizations and international collaborators.  Jen has co-authored several book chapters and articles on EFS and professional learning in addition to several guides for educators. All of her work is focused on the intersection of sustainability, teacher practice, and developing leadership and a sense of agency.  Jen has a background in sustainable agriculture earning a BS from the University of Vermont and in environmental education receiving a MS from Lesley University/Audubon Expedition Institute.  Jen is the Co-Chair of the K-12 and Teacher Education Sector of the US Partnership for Education for Sustainable Development and a board member of Vermont Energy Education Programs.
