Assistant Director

Stephanie Cryer (she/her), Assistant Director at CAPS, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who received her Master of Social Work from Washington University in St. Louis, MO. She has worked in community mental health, supporting marginalized individuals and programs, and as a therapist in various locations including Washington, DC, Dakar, Senegal and Chicago, IL. She became interested in social justice and human development years ago while serving as a Peace Corps volunteer in a tiny village in Ghana.Stephanie believes in the transformative power of the therapeutic relationship to facilitate growth and understanding, works to develop a relationship that is built on compassion, honesty and trust, and takes a curious and non-judgmental approach to the work. Outside of work she enjoys skiing, mountain biking, traveling the world whenever possible and when not, exploring the vast beauty of Vermont. Stephanie’s areas of interest include adjustment challenges, relationship concerns, identity development, substance misuse, trauma recovery, cross-cultural exploration, anxiety.
