Ideas for what we can do better in Orientation and BTS-Move-In in 2009

- Very many operations went very smoothly; compliments from parents

- Thousands of students got online without help; hundreds got help quickly

-Orientation, schedule orientation staffers to parallel hours depot is open so that materials can be accessed easily OR store orientation materials in a place that ALL orientation staffers can access.  Access to the Davis Depot is extreemly limited to a small number of depot staff.

-ONE IDEA TO KEEP! Keeping the computers OUT of the orientation tent and in the depot where they belong was a VERY wise suggestion on Carol's part. this kept the lines from getting long (from people trying out the computers).  It worked very well to send them to the depot (or website) to see the machines. The difference between 2007 (where there were computers there) to 2008 was very noticible.  We were able to serve and move many more people with the 2 or 3 questions that they all have.  having the machines there in the past often created more lines while people tried out the machines.

-Make the BTS schedule in a format that can be edited by other staff than the master scheduler... if that sounds like a good idea. :)

-Whip the BTS Timeline into shape so it's more organized and easier to keep track of deadlines.  Not working so well as an Excel doc.

-Minor edits to computer connection document for ResLife: Retitle so it's clear it applies to all computers not just immediately picked up from Computer Depot during move-in (rather than "Non-UVM computer".

- Be sure T-shirt order count includes HL and CDC, students and temp employees

- Don't need pick-up site help desk?  Do any support or reimaging at CDC?

- Don't have students sign EULA for MS Office; have them click agreement online when they order it

- Better coordination of lunch

- Better information to students about getting on wireless network

- Location by Brennan's next year for expanded CDC (first week of classes)?

- Balance of HL, CDC, follow-up people?
