Computer Labs:

The Waterman Computer Lab in Waterman building is the largest computing area on campus. It is located in room 113 in the basement of the Waterman building. It is a general purpose and teaching facility open to any current UVM affiliate. You should be prepared to show your UVM ID if requested. Student Consultants are generally on duty when the lab is open.

  • Video and audio editing systems
  • One-on-one help

Other computing areas on campus include:

There are numerous other computer facilities on campus, all managed and controlled by their respective units. They may only be available to certain colleges or to certain groups. You should check first before you depend on their use for any purpose.

Zoo:

Zoo is a cluster of powerful UNIX servers operated by ETS. When you send and receive mail at UVM using your first.last@uvm.edu address, or your NetID@uvm.edu address, you're actually using the Zoo cluster. When you publish web pages to http://www.uvm.edu/~netid, you're also using Zoo. Did you know that you can also use Zoo for file sharing? For scientific and statistical computing? Learn what you can do with Zoo.
