UVM Anitivirus Information

Microsoft Windows

UVM computers running versions of Microsoft Windows are licensed to install ESET NOD32 Antivirus, available for download from the UVM Software Archive. Computers purchased from the Depot will likely have NOD32 preinstalled.

Please be advised that Symantec AntiVirus is no longer maintained or supported by ETS. If your machine is running any version of Symantec or Norton AntiVirus, you should uninstall it, and upgrade to ESET NOD32 at your earliest convenience.

Apple OS X/Macintosh

There is currently no antivirus software for Mac OS X licensed by UVM. Product testing of several brands of Mac OS X antivirus software by ETS is ongoing. If and when a product is found to be suitable for University licensing and distribution it will be posted here.

Email

All email coming into the UVM mail gateway is scanned for viruses before delivery to your inbox. For more information on this service see the UVM Email Scanning page.
