Holocene Geologic Records of Episodic Sedimentation -- Characterizing the Timing and Distribution of Hillslope Erosion and Extreme Hydrologic Events. This project integrated my own field and laboratory research with the research and training of both my undergraduate and graduate students; it furthered my educational philosophy of active student involvement at all levels and was designed to provide discrete, achievable research projects for every student involved. The project involved several sub-projects including lake sediment coring, alluvial fan trenching, urban hydrology and historic image collection and analysis. You can learn more about the project from this summary talk I prepared for an NSF EPSCoR panel on grant preparation. (download pdf)
