A Note from President Sullivan What a beautiful – and busy – autumn it has been here at UVM. It’s hard to believe that we’re already past the midpoint of the semester! It seems as though it was only a few short weeks ago that we welcomed the Class of 2021 with a spirited Move-In Day and all of the events of Convocation weekend. Thank you to the many staff members who helped greet our newest students and their families with a warm welcome. With the start of this semester, we opened the state-of-the-art Central Campus Residence Hall and its wonderful dining facility offering farm-to-table foods and open-style kitchens. The dining hall is open to the campus community, and while there is often a line out the door, the short wait is worth it for the excellent food and the opportunity to engage with students from across campus. I highly recommend that everyone on campus experience the new dining hall at some point this semester to see, and taste, what the buzz is all about. Continue reading... Information from Staff Council: We're Seeking Bake Sale Donations and Volunteers for the 2017 Holiday Bazaar! Staff Council invites you to join us from 9am-3pm on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 in the Grand Maple Ballroom for our annual Holiday Bazaar and Food Drive. We're also asking all of our UVM community and campus affiliates (staff, students,faculty and retirees) to consider volunteering an hour at this special annual event. There are many different time slots and different opportunities to help. Please click on the first link to sign up to volunteer at the event on the day (Dec. 6th). The second link is to sign up to donate a baked good to our ever-popular Bake Sale. Holiday Bazaar Volunteer Sign-Up Holiday Bazaar Bake Sale Sign-Up This event is Staff Council's biggest one of the year - it helps to build community here at UVM, and the money we raise helps support events and discounts for staff all year long. In addition, we hope to again beat our previous record for food donated to the Chittenden Food Shelf! Please email us you have further questions at Staff.Council@uvm.edu. Staff Council's Double-Discounted Hockey and Basketball Tickets are Back! We're taking orders for double-discounted hockey and basketball tickets over winter break! The Staff Council's Social Committee subsidizes these ticket purchases for UVM staff members and this year we've added an additional game. You can attend UVM Men's Ice Hockey versus UMass on January 13th and UVM Men's Basketball vs. UMBC on January 6th for just $6 per ticket. You must be UVM staff to order, but you can order as many as you'd like. Print out the order form here. Orders are due in the Staff Council Office by December 15th, but get your orders in soon - these tickets are while supplies last.
