The University of Vermont

Board of Trustees

Campus and BurlingtonThe Office of Federal, State and Community Relations connects the University of Vermont to state and national leaders, government officials, and private and public organizations.  The office works to develop productive relationships with decision-makers at the state and national level in order to improve their understanding of the University's contributions to Vermont and to society at large.  The office is committed to keeping the University community informed of the impact of state and federal actions on the University and higher education in general.

The Office of Federal, State and Community Relations is responsible for the development and
implementation of comprehensive strategies to achieve the University's funding and public policy objectives in the legislative and regulatory environments in which it operates.  Special emphasis is placed on monitoring and providing expertise on issues pending in the Vermont legislature and executive branch and working closely with Vermont's Congressional delegation and national organizations in support of higher education.  The office also coordinates the University's grass roots initiatives that communicate state interests to the University and ensure that Vermonters are well informed of the activities, priorities, and importance of the University throughout the state.

The Univerisity benefits the state and local community in many ways; for a list of some of them, click here.
