Shortcomings

There are some features we’d like The Panorama Factory to have in the future -- no promises, though.

Things that might be realistic additions in the next feature release:

  • Retouching tools.
  • Improved auto-exposure compensation.
  • VR file format output (QTVR, IVR, etc.).
  • User preferences.

Features that are probably pretty hard to add (i.e., don't hold your breath):

  • Vertical panoramas (currently vertical panoramas must be stitched sideways).
  • Undo ! Right now the only thing you can do is save the project whenever are happy with its state. Then if you make a mistake you can close the project without saving and then reopen it from the good version. Note that the Auto Save Project properties option subverts this approach.
  • Ability to tilt the camera up or down rather than just keep it level.

In between:

  • Standard cut-copy-paste approach for (1) thumbnails and (2) image decorations.
  • Onscreen zoom control.
  • Better performance! (Is any program fast enough?).
  • Fisheye lens support.
